    VXPro+

    Old VXPro+ PcChips 537DMA

Seen old post here which told me I could use SDRAM, but depends on configuration of memory: 64Mb single-sided, or 128Mb double-sided, doesn't mattaer what speed, so PC100 or PC133 fine. The manual says it can handle 64Mb technology depending on layout 16Mb x 4 ok, 8Mb x 8, or 4Mb x 16

Well SDRAM being so cheap, bought a 128Mb DIMM, but website where I bought it, says layout is 16Mb x 64 (which makes no sense to me... but maybe I'm missing something)

Any ideas whether this will work? (Hence the 2 posts this evening..!)

    Easy

That'd rather be 16x 64-MBit, exactly what you need to have - provided the chips are 8x8 MBit. 4-bit wide chips don't work, since then you'd have a single 128-MByte bank, something VXpro+ aka VIA VPX can't handle. No experience on the 16-bitty chips.

    regards, Peter
