Preventing Installation of Outlook Express w/IE6.0

I really need some help from knowledgeable users. Here's my dilemma:
At my job we have several WIN98SE client machines with IE5.0 and we use an e-mail client other then Outlook. (Beyond Mail)
The network administrator has recently requested that they all be upgraded to IE6.0 with the newest security patch HOWEVER I need to do a custom install of IE6.0 without Outlook express being installed. I have searched Microsoft technet and have not found any references how to install IE6.0 while preventing Outlook Express from installing.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is there an option in the .ini file to just remove outlook express from the initial installation?
Quick help would really be appreciated.

Let it install then delete the icons and the .exe files.

In the enterprise, it's best to use IEAK to deploy a custom IE6 package. It's not too hard to do without experience.

That said, when you do the first upgrade, select Custom or Full Install and setup asks what components to install. Exclude Outlook Express. Have your users connect to the folder with ie6setup in it and tell them to select Custom and to deselect Outlook Express. Yeah, I know....they don't listen. See above.

Sterling is right on...you can uninstall it in Add/Remove Programs too.

If the concern is that Outlook Express will become the default email app, just change that in Internet Options > Programs.
