Will this setup work for sharing cable connection?

I'm currently looking into buying a wireless network for our house since wires would be impossible because the computers we want to connect are on all 3 different levels. I am leaning towards D-Link at the moment.

    D-LinkAir DI-713P IEEE 802.11b Compliant Wireless Gateway

    D-LinkAir DWL-120 802.11 Wireless LAN USB Card 11Mbps

Would this setup work? How hard is it to configure a network like this because my dad doesn't want the internet down for too long since he uses it for business. The description on the website says that you dont need any software, just plug cable modem into gateway and plug an adapter into each pc, reboot and your set...? Can it be that easy?

Also, what is the difference between a Wireless LAN Access Point and a Broadband Wireless Router?

Wireless is all new to me. I'm not a big fan of D-Link stuff, but it should work. You will need wireless adapters for all PCs. Speed will vary according to location and it's not very fast - about as fast as a cable connection.
