    XP http and ftp server

I'm using XP pro and I understand XP has this built in? I installed it (I think so anyway) from the XP disk. I've gotten as far as opening control panel, admin tools, internet services, and then I'm lost. Has anyone on here used it? Does anyone have any good links or info on how to set it up and use it? Windows help files suck!!! Thanks.

Open Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. Click on "Add/Remove Windows Components". Find Internet Information Services (IIS) and install it. The wizards will guide you from there.

I have been wanting to do this also, but I only have the home version. I don't believe the home version has IIS. Is this true?

Where can I get a copy of IIS or Personal Webserver that will run on XP?

Hey kpm. I ended up installing ServU for FTP server. It works good and was easy to set up. I had problems with XP's server but I think that was because of my firewall. I may try it again. Anyway, here is the link: http://www.serv-u.com/
