    Windows ME crash

I have recently defragmented my hard drive on a Windows ME system and everything completed successfully. However, when I rebooted I got all kinds of error messages popping up right before the login box appears. They all said that certain modules were causing exception faults with user32.dll. I was able to fix this problem before by reinstalling from the setup CD, but I am curious as to why this keeps on happening and if there is another easier way to correct this problem?

Do you have all the WinME updates installed? Microsoft has a fix on their updates page that addresses the defrag issue.
