I Hope you mean SocketA, anyway, I would advise against a Thoroughbred, why ? Because the Thoroughbred will be released on May 2nd at a speed of 1700+ (1.467Ghz), so basically, the initial Thoroughbreds will most definitely be slower than the latest Palomino based Athlon XPs, so, I would recommend that you invest your money in an Athlon XP 1900+, 2000+, or 2100+. Back to your question, yes it will work, but it may require a BIOS flash before installation, like the Pentium 4 Northwoods require a BIOS fash with motherboards that dont support them out of the box.

Let's wait and see how they oc. They'll be pricey to start, but that makes everything else more affordable.

Besides, why should we hurry? AMD'S not.

hopefully they will be like the P4 1.6a's and will be able to massivly overclock. hehe. that would be sweet and make them worth their price tag.

yeah i MENT SocketA thanks uncle_jimbo, but i was thinking along the lines of what lildude said, high oc potential. So if i just get an xp for now.. whats next, the Barton chips? Will THESE be compatable with a socketA board?
