HD Tach, defragging and RAID0 - Expectations
I just downloaded HD Tach after seeing a review. Does the fragmentation of a drive effect its score?
I noticed it only reads off the first 8GB or so. Would it be any higher if they were empty sectors, as compared to heavily fragmented data? I just got this program so Im not very sure of the specifics of it.
Also, I finished setting up a RAID0 of 2 45GB IBM 75GXP's on my KT7-RAID.
The correct way to set them up (for performance) is to set them as masters on seperate ports and no slaves right?
Also what kind of scores should I expect on HD Tach as far as transfer rate goes? They are ATA/100 7200 RPM drives.
