    Cant run cd and hd on seperate ide

    My computer wont let me run my hd and cd on seperate cables. My hd is my primary master and my cd is a slave. When i unplug the cd rom from the cable it says hd failure and sometimes wont detect it. plug the cd rom back in and ok. It does detect the cd rom on a seperate cable ok HELP

    Please refrain from posting the same problem in different threads. It is diffucult for the people who are trying to help, keep up with what is going on. Forum protocol is to keep an ongoing problem confined to one thread until resolved.
