    SIS 530 VIDEO OVERCLOCK

Is there anyway to improve the performance of an SIS 530 video card and/or add features?

    Thanks

well i think Powerstrip can overclock nearly sny graphics card, but i dont see the point as its a bit of a bad 3d games chip. Graphics cards are so cheap at the moment, if u want u can get a new one for next to nothing

Thanks tricktx, I'll look into the powerstrip. When I totally upgrade I'll get a good graphics card, but for now I'm trying to go as cheap as possible.

Powerstrip won't actually do anything on that chipset. Higher 3D core clock won't help you anyway, since the system is absolutely RAM limited - and the RAM clock is a given since it's the system RAM.

So you want to maximize your RAM throughput. Use the best DIMM you have, at CL2 setting.

Then, to lower RAM bandwidth requirements in your 3D games, run them in 16-bit color rather than 32-bit, keep the resolution low, and - often overlooked - take the refresh rate down from the 85 to 100 that Windows often chooses to use in these low resolutions.

    regards, Peter

    It's built-in.
