    Monitor Drivers

    Hey all,

I've got a stupid monitor that never works right with anything because I don't have the right drivers. It's an HP D11B2A and I have yet to find anyplace that has the right drivers for it. I'd really appreciate it if someone could find these drivers, or at least some that might work with this particular piece of junk. Thanks,

    SpaceBz

Have you tired the drivers inside windows? specifically, I have a no-name monitor, so I use drivers by princeton or phillips...never had any problems..

I think flingV is right. Monitors don't really have drivers. Their software loads info or small programs that tell you what the monitor will do as far as resolution, bit, HZ, and color correction. It's the vid card that has drivers.

If I remember correctly Powerstrip program can make "drivers" for any monitor ...

You might want to check that up.

You're ALL WRONG (at least in a point)
Drivers are NOT essencial for a machine's stability, but they do help
a lot if you spend a LOT of hours in front of that white box of yours, by enabling color corrections, gamma and all that stuff...

Sorry about your situation SpaceBZ. What kind of problems are you experiencing? I'm assuming that your monitor driver is set to "Plug & Play"? Having the correct monitor driver is important if you want it to function to manufacturer spec. For example, if you're using a generic plug & play driver with a high end trinitron, then your OS may not properly recognize the correct refresh rate settings available in your display properties. It certainly isn't all up to the graphics card. And if you do sit in front of a screen all day long, a higher refresh rate is a must. If you utilize programs such as Photoshop, the correct monitor profile is very useful when testing your work's visual quality on multiple platforms, or preparing a design for print. Gamma and color profiles work best if you have the correct monitor driver.
