Hello , please explain whats exactly is benchmarking and why should you do it and how.

Benchmarking is a tchnique that consists in measuring hardware speed. It can be done with several applications like SiSoft Sandra or 3D Mark. Benchmarking is a very useful way to compare different systems and/or hardware parts, like CPUs, HDs, video cards, etc...it let's you know for example, how many frames per second can your video system display at a certain resolution, ina certain animaiton scene, how many MIPS your rates, how many MB per second your HD writes/reads, it's access time, etc etc etc...try on SiSoft Sandra, it's a powerful diagnostic and benchmark util
