Message was Edited ???
What is with the little message that appears at the bottom of a post when you edit one of your own messages after submitting it?
It usually says something along the lines of Message Edited on 04/08/2002 12:23:12PM....
Why does it only show up about half of the time? I am somewhat of a perfectionist, so I will look at my message when I'm done and often edit it to make it more readable, or if I didn't catch a typo. Sometimes I can edit the message two or three times and the 'Edited' statement won't be there. Other times I edit it once, and there it is. What gives?

Yep, I edit my posts also due to mispellings ect, and my take on this is that the edit message does not show up until someone has accessed the thread, or maybe a certain time has elapsed ect. I have edited a post 2 or 3 times while playing with the UBB code or color, and it did not put the edit notation at the bottom...and I have had the edit notation added if I simply click my post into edit, put a period in and resubmit it if there was another member somewhere in the thread.

That would make sense. I never really checked to see how many people *looked* at it. I lose count because each time you do something it bumps the view count up anyway.

I have gotten before without any replies, though.

I "think" you get "X" amount of seconds (maybe up to 90 seconds) to edit your own post without getting the message.
