    Voodoo5 benchmarking

    I have a xp1800+ on a k7s5a mobo with 256 ddr 2100.
I got a score of only 2229. That seems pretty low. Someone told me that 3dmark2001 doesn't like voodoo's is that true? What do you believe my score should be? Thanx

3dfx cards by todays standards are outdated, I would recommend you upgrade to a GeForce3 Ti200, you should start seeing scores around 7500-9000 3dmarks.

For the V5, that's a great score. I would get around 1600 with the V5 and Athlon 1GHz. Upgraded the video card to a Radeon 8500 and the score increased to 6600, same CPU. The real world speed difference isn't as exagerated as the increase in 3dmarks, but it is noticably smoother on newer games.
yo trick, why you so **** doofus?

    i get a score of 2214 in 3dMark2001 se using :

    MSI K7T266 Pro2 RU
    AthlonXP 1700+
    Crucial 256MB DDR SDRAM PC2100 CAS2.5
    Voodoo3 3000 AGP with TV-OUT

Thought a V5 with 1800+ should do a lot better than mine!

    D3Dness

I've never got any decent performance out of my Voodoo in Any D3D game. 3DMark benchmarks the card using Direct3D.

Since I only have one D3D game I like (and it's about 5 years old) I couldn't give two expletives about how good 3Dmark thinks my system is.

Quake 3 never drops under 60fps in 1280x1024... that'll do.
