Would Flight Simulator be good for benchmarking?
OK I have quake 3 and RTCW. I get decent FPS in the two games with my old vid card. ATI Rage 128 pro 32MB AGP. (about 40 FPS) but when I play games like Midtown Madness 2 and Flight simulator 2002 the most I can get is about 25 FPS. I know Midtown Madness 2 wouldn't be good cause you have to download another program to monitor the FPS like Fraps. But FS 2002 comes with its out FPS counter and you can get as many FPS as you want. There is no cut off like at 100 FPS.
I what to know if people use quake 3 as a benching tool because you can get more FPS out of it? Why not test with more graphic intense games like FS 2002 and try to get the best FPS in that game. I mean in this game wouldn't it be hard to hit 100 FPS but in quake it would be a lot easier?
