English Language for German Windows XP???
I'm wondering wheather its somehow possible, to change mine current German Windows XP, into english language? Cos I'm an non-german speaking aussie, here in germany, and i had to buy a german laptop with german xp...
It would make mine life a lot simpler if i knew what all the prompts and options meant...

In C:\Windows\System32 there is an INTL.CPL file. Double-click it. Mess around in there and reboot. On the second tab, click the top button too...easy to miss.

Thanks
But I think that only changes the locality, and keyboard setting...
Anyway I dont see how Windows XP requires more then a gig of space on hd, if it doesnt provide other lanuguage packs, nor support for older hardware (From what i been reading).

You do have to have the XP CD. Does your system only come with a "restore" disk? do you have an English-speaking German friend to help you navigate?
Here's an exerpt from Help and Support:
To change the language used for menus and dialog boxes
Open Regional and Language Options in Control Panel.
On the Languages tab, under Language used in menus and dialogs, click the language you want.
Notes
To open Regional and Language Options, click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Regional and Language Options.
This option is only available in the Windows Multilingual User Interface Pack. If you are interested in this product, please contact the Microsoft office nearest you for more information.
INTL.CPL is Regional and Language Options. This will only affect Windows and will not change installed programs.
You're best bet is to contact the manufacturer of the system and ask for an English restore disk.
