router not obtaining IP addresses automatically help

All of a sudden my router cannot obtain an ip automatically. I have tried everything to no avail. Please help guys. I work from home and need my connection badly. I can hook up my computer directly to the modem and then it works after powering down the modem and them powering it back up. I have the Linksys befsr41 4port cable/dsl router and the Comcast @ home service. It was working fine until two days ago and now this. Can anyone tell me why my router is not pulling this IP address from comcast's dhcp servers.

Go into the Linksys setup (http://192.168.1.1) and Release and Renew the DHCP lease.

If no joy, clone the MAC address of your PC (use IPCONFIG /ALL from a command prompt to get the MAC address) on the Linksys.

I discovered this the hard way - as you have. I returned from vacation to find that the cable modem didn't like my router anymore, but loved my server. I put two and two together (got 3.5 ) and figured that cloning the MAC address would have to be the trick. I had some prior knowledge as to how RoadRunner really works.

To this day, I have no idea why this ever happened.
