    Case Mod problems

Ok I want to put 5 switches > on my front panel, and I need them to be connected to 5 different fans (2 120mm, 3 80mm), so when I flip specific switch that fan which is connected to that switch starts working, can you please help me out?

    Shady,
Easy really, take the +12V line to one contact of all of the switches, from the other contact of each switch run a wire to each fan (+ve), along with this wire run another to each fan (0V), (use a pair), at the switch panel join all these -0V wires together and to the 0V rail. Each switch will operate one fan.

The only difficulty may be identifiying which contact is which on the switch, if you get anything other than a simple SPST (single pole, single throw).

    Shady,
Just looked at your switch link, I can see why you might want to use these (LED's), but be aware they are not delicate little things.
They will require more wiring than I indicated in the last post, as there is a resistor req'd for each to limit the current for each led. The exact wiring will depend on how the LED is connected inside the switch.

    Shady,
There are other switches that may be more suitable, a quick look found these, they may be too big, too expensive, or just not to your liking, but give them a look.
You could, of course use a seperate led, or a little bank of rectangular ones, or even the intergrated type... http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=276%2D081

    Shady,
There are three terminals on the switch, on each switch.....one of the two on the bottom goes to the +12V rail, the other bottom one goes to the fan, with another wire from the 0V line, the third terminal goes to the 0V line via a resistor (370 or 420 ohms).
I will draw a diagram, but not now, its 01:42 here, bed calls.

    Shady,

if you have access to radio shack, then ask them for a data sheet on the switch ( quote the part No. ). They will give this for free usually. This will include a typical wiring diagram for the switch. Substitute the car's 12v battery for your 12v supply from your P.S.U. and Substitute the load, for your fan.
