Sound card problems
Yet another problem I have!
Here's the situation: I have a number of mp3s which I play via Winamp on my PC.
Recently, whenever I play a song and then try to surf the web at the same time, the sound goes nuts. When I move the mouse, the sound gets static-ky and slows and makes a kind of skipping as the song is playing.
The only change I made to my sound card lately is when I tried to converse via mic. with an overseas friend and I changed a setting called Full Duplex.
I tried deselecting it, but still no use.
My PC is a Win95 48MB RAM Pentium Packard Bell.
Thanks again for your help.

sounds like the memory's competing between winamp and your web browser. you don't use aol do you? i had sometrouble with winamp and aol working together..
you might try in winamp, under preferences>options> see what your process priority class is ( the slider at the bottom ). if its on idle, slide it up to normal..

before you changed ( I presume) from half-duplex to full-duplex could you play music and surf the web at the same time?

Sorry for the late reply.
Yes, I think it was on half-duplex, that is,
Full Duplex option was unchecked.
Thanks for your replies!
