I know I ask a lot of questions.
Why aren't there any slot 1 motherboards with the Intel 815 chipset, and why don't they have any intermediate speeds?
Along those lines which mobo reaches...

www.tccomputers.com carries the Enlight 7237. Mid tower with a 300watt power supply. $79 I am considering it myself.

DOh! I meant to say the PIII at 560 is guaranteed. The guarantee of the Celeron 300A at 450 is accurate, I would only question the availability. They have those new Soyo boards too.

www.ram-ware.com will sell you a PIII 450 that will do 560. They have combos with 133MHz RAMM. They are still selling Celeron 300A's guaranteed to do 450, or so they advertise.

The speed of the cache chips, are they the same as the 450? With a 4X multiplier and a price now under $200 (like the original Celeron 300A) this could be a sleeper.

I'm asking the same question. Current prices for PII 400's is about $250. The original retail price for the Celeron 300A was $200.
Does anybody know if the cache chips on the 400 are the same...

You also have to realize is that the PIII just came out, and of course Intel priced it for this situation. Intel just loves to make AMD go D'Oh! a thousand times more often than Homer Simpson. But...

There are 2 flavors, there's a P5A which goes in a newer ATX style case, and the P5AB which goes into the older style AT case. Keep that in mind.
People like both because they are good...
