yes I loaded the ata100 drivers the latest
have 2 maxter 40gig ata 100 7200 rpm udma 5
the ata100 drivers install but i cant see any drives on the ata 100 controler
and I can boot from it

it keeps giving me none accessable boot drive iit installed to D:\ does it matter if it's a primary partition ?

if your system is running fine no problems then it's not a big deal and I would not update unless you need to and Know how.

that said I keep the newest bios I can get in my board but I'm always up...

you need to run a current virus detection program to make sure it is a bootsector virus
if it is some can be easly remove but personaly I would run a Zero fill program and wipe that drive clean...

take it all apart all the way down to just the mobo clean every thing reall nice and then put it back togather
while you have it all apart pull the battery so the bios resets
then try it

how hot is the mobo running ?
