first step is remove cover/case and look at the HD to see what brand name it is.
next goto the manufactures site and download their HD utility that has a zero fill program on it.

the only way a floppy disk is gonna cause all this much trouble is a serious virus. what ever you downloaded and sent/saved to the floppy disk caused all this.

before you format the HD (which is useless as far as getting rid of data) you better make sure you have all the software to reload the operating system and the drivers for all the devices.

goto the sound card manufactures site and download the 2k drivers.
or post the name brand/model # here and one of the helpful techs will find them for you.

it could be your HD has/had a hidden partition on it, in which case only a zero fill will allow you to fdisk and format.

the drive/files are so corrupted now its beyond repair.
time to zero fill the drive and reload.

zero fill "writes" a zero to every sector thus insuring there is no data (1's) left. yes it will erase viruses,all data, easy bios, any/all commands that are stored on the HD.
