Dunno if it's true or not, but here's a site that says it has OpenGL support:

HELLO AND welcome to sysopt!
:t
the sis6326 does not support opengl and supports only direct3d..
you wont be able to play games in opengl made.
you can get the latest drivers here
http://www.sis.com/support/driver/6326.htm
you may want to upgrade your card..the sis 6326 is an very old card
what kinda system do you have?
I can suggest a good card for ya!
:t :)
you can get a Geforce4 mx card for pretty cheap. it will be lightyears ahead of the sis.
This graphics chip being a 1997 design, it'll be no fun, speed wise. Fairly recent drivers are on www.sis.com, and there actually IS OpenGL support.
regards, Peter
i own a SIS6326 and they wernt anything back in 97/98 when they came out. The ATI Rage kicked its ***.
So pick up a Geforce2MX for next to nothing. I can get one from my local comp shop for £17 and thats in the uk. This will boost your performance. Dont go for a Geforce4 if you arnt that much into games (just quake) waste of money

The 6326 had DVD decoders and TV-out long before anyone else had, and had quite complete a 3D engine ... but still, speed wise, it was a midrange to low-end thing when it came out.
Actually the 6326 *DID* support OpenGL at one time. The set of drivers just prior to the current reference (and last) driver set had support for OpenGL. SiS decided to pull support when they realized it was ridiculous to advertise this card for any type of 3d gaming.
I used one of these crappy cards with my old C300(450mhz) way back when, but I got it primarily for 2d purposes. My V2 SLI was the primary engine for all my games in those days. The only game I could run on the 6326 at a "playable" framerate was the original GLQuake and the image quality was pathetic. Quake2 ran, but it was a jerky mess and the image quality was even worse.
sis 6326 is ****.
Everything is relative. I used this card for the 2nd monitor in my PC until I get around to investing in a slightly better (!) 2D card for improved performance on the 2nd monitor.Quote:

I bet if you and I compared our computer systems, your system would be "cr@p" compared to mine...
i still feel sis 6326 is ****
as a 3d card is ****, but it does 2d very well. And look at the price.
Let andy take his time ... he needed three days to figure out three additional words :x
Buy a new video card.
I used to own a SIS 6326. It was my first 3d accelerator. It was pretty ****. It had no support for any newer games and went extremely slow.
I was very happy though when I purchased a Voodoo 2 at that time. It increased the speed by a long way.
Now I have a Geforce 256 DDR video card and I am very happy with that.
So you should buy a new video card. You should be able to find a number of cheap video cards that can beat the SIS 6326 easily.
