I have a 237 GB SSD with Windows 10 and Office 2007. Under Drive C:Storage,
- System Files, 20.3 GB
- System Restore, 134 GB
What is the minimum of storage space needed for my System Restore ?

It depends on how far back you want to go. The less space you have, the fewer restore points you can save.Quote:

That being said, 134GB is overkill. You could do maybe 5-10% of the drive. If that's not enough restore point, you can increase it.

Personally, I disable System Restore because:
1. it's unreliable
2. it can be contaminated by malware
3. it takes up valuable space
I really recommend a good bare-metal (imaging) backup program and a separate hard drive (which you already have, apparently) to store the images on. It's really the only thing you can count on in a disaster.
Thanks Bill for your advice on this topic, and AppleTV
I prefer to keep System Restore on with a small amount of space. It has saved me a few times in the past. But to each his own.
System Restore doesn't replace a true backup, so you still need to make those.
Thanks Midknyte, that's true System Restore is handy, but a true backup is best.
