Which ones are available? Where can i get these?
Could be a good idea for my ASROCK alivedual esata2.
Have only USB 3.0 and esata-external drives at the moment.

Could be a good idea for my ASROCK alivedual esata2.
Have only USB 3.0 and esata-external drives at the moment.
PCI-e 1.1 has a (250 MB/s) maximum data rate.
See if they have one that is not a RAID card.
Still that is much faster than USB 2. Probably 20 times faster as a minimum.
I have already a SATA-Dual-eSATA-cable.
PCIe card-version much quicker for eSata-drive on my quicker ASROCK-MB with USB3.0?
so i must ask if they have a version without raid, right. most probably they do not have, must search on ebay or in our shop.
I have found eSATA to be much faster than USB3 for me.
Maybe here is the answer: getting SATA3-MB.

This one?

This one has 300mb/sec
http://www.steg-electronics.ch/de/ar...ie-555175.aspx
but my two external esata2 3.o Gb/s connectors(PCIe x1 interface which i dont understand)support raid, NCQ, AHCII and Hotplug.
1 internal esata 2 3.0gb/sec connector shared with 1 sata2 port(it seems they must be connected by cable)
Now i dont understand anythin anymore regarding speed.
didnt you say PCIe x1 is slow?
http://www.steg-electronics.ch/de/ar...ie-583283.aspx
maybe better using such a card on only PCIe-slot instead of videocard.
Using AGP-videocard.
Pity my esata-external drive has only one plug but two for Firewire.
could have used it on two pcs.
Are there switches like the one i use for USB-drive or isnt it possible with esata?
"PCI-e 1.1 has a (250 MB/s) maximum data rate."
ASROCK alive dual esata2 has PCIe x16 slot(PCIe 1) so its slow.
And i must search for one without raid-option,why?
Or no card, using simply the integrated esata2-connector(3gb/s) shared with 1 sata2 port.
I must simply connect these.

Each PCI-E connection is a x1, x2, x3, etc.Quote:
PCIe x1 interface
Each has a different Bandwidth on the through put.
So your limiting factor is the PCI-E 1.1 slot on your motherboard, which has the same through put as PCI-E 1.0a
Check this information out.

I prefer not having to install RAID in any shape form, etc. Seen folks have just to much trouble, but if you want to only use one hdd on the card. You may/should be OK.
Just looked through the Promise site and did not find a none raid card.
But google shows some do exist.

SIIG does

It was a misunderstanding. i had in mind using a card to get a speedier data-stream to an external esata-drive.
But i dont need a card since i have an esata-connector.
such a card is only needed if the other slots are full, right?
Yes, that is true.Quote:
