Which version of the dd-wrt firmware should I use for a Buffalo WHR-G125?

My D-link is constantly losing signal, and my laptop is right next to it. It also loses connection with the hardwire connection. So, I'm going to get the new Buffalo WHR-G125 and see how it works. If it works well, then I'll flash it with the DD-WRT firmware.

I have the page for the downloads of the firmware for that router, but which one do I use?

Firmware Download Page

I have 1 wireless pc desktop, 1 wireless pc laptop, and 1 wireless Macbook. i also have a VOIP system that is hard connected to the router.

So, which version of the firmware should I use. I assume it's just a matter of flashing it via the GUI, and should only take a couple of minutes, right?

And then what settings do you suggest that I tweak for a strong and reliable signal?

A link to a screenshot tutorial would be helpful is there is one.

OK. Thanks. So I assume I use v23_sp2_standard firmware (see stablefw.png attached) vs. dd-wrt.v24_std_whr-g125.bin (see betafw.png attached). Is that right?

I would only use the stable version until the beta version is updated and moved to the stable version. Use the most recent stable version. Beta would be a gamble.

I installed DD-WRT on my Linksys router and it only took 30 mins. total to get it up and running perfectly. It turns a **** router into a great wireless system.
