I seem to be getting this error every time I try to install Vista beta, I am installing it onto a 80Gig ATA WD drive as a dual boot with windows XP, I have tried to copy the files to a folder and install it that way and from DVD, I have tried to install it onto a drive by itself with the same error, that drive was also ATA, anyone else have an error like this? there is a screenshot of it below.
It turned out that If you have a Motherboard with SATA + PATA drives, and you
have Native Mode selected in the BIOS (Not the compatibility mode) your
install will fail. How come, I couldnt tell you.
This is the case atleast for me with build 5308.
Ye I saw that one, I went into my BIOS and for the life of me I cant find where to change it, the board I have is a PC Chips T12 V1 Im looking through the manual as I typ/speak and Im having trouble finding it, nag dang it.
Lots of folks are having the same problem and it's been advised to do a direct download of the file rather than using the download manager.

Downloaded directly and worked like a charm. Burnt image with nero.

did the same as you used Nero to brun the image downloaded it direct from the link tried just about every thing, so screw it , ill get a copy from my buddy. downloading a file that big 4 times is not good. it might be something to do with my ATA drive who knows.
