Actually I've heard that same joke with Canada being the great and glorious land

I've never been to the U.P. but know a lot of people FROM there, and i'd have to agree with that one!

(Even though I LIVE in the lower peninsula!)

Well, I've lived in pretty much every part of Michigan, except Detroit (yuck) northern Lower, southern, and the U.P.(Houghton) I like northern Lower the best. But the U.P. is definately a great place to visit.
The only thing I hated about the U.P. was I kept that dang accent when I moved to southwest Michigan!
