Which version of win2K are you using? are you sure it's not a eval version like someothers on the board are (and they are having problems too)?

I have yet to try the BETA bios release on my system (as not enough testing has been done on them for me to put them on my system) as I dont use the hibernate feature. You might need to boot in safemode and revert to the old vid card drivers you were using.

Question

i think i have the final release of win 2k. it is built 2195. it says 5.00.2195.

anyway i have tried in safe mode, vga mode, and command prompt mode but wih no success. it always freezes when i press 'enter' when win 2k pro is selected.

i do not thing that these drivers were trouble because i am using them now (i have a nj bios installed now). it does not support acpi nor hybernate and it has trouble with usb.

do you have bp6 as well?

i have also put the first message onto a bp6.com message board but no luck till now.

the problem is that it worked and than it stopped. the whole story is that it wasn't working at all, but then Gene (thanks Gene) sent me his qq bios which worked (same settings in bios, same file size as my BP6qq.b01). i have then reinstalled the system. win 2k installed acpi functions. i had even had powerdownaftershutdown. but it is all gone.

does anyone make anything out of this?

please help.

ps. does anyone know when we might expect the final release of qq bios) - can't wait.

Yep I'm running a bp6. I have no problems with my USB (using MIPS1.1 instead of 1.4 and that fixed that one). The only feature I'm having problems with (but I dont use it anyways as my systems run 24/7) is hibernation.

ps. When the final qq bios comes out I'll probably jump on it.

FOR THOSE WHO WANTS TO RUN A ABIT BP6 WITH ACPI/APM ON TWO PROCESSORS
Abits technical support team wrote me today a response to my email:
Abit will release in about 4 weeks a new bios which will fix the bug so that a dualprocessor OS will powerdown after shutdown (ACPI/APM)
