Blaster CD's

Okay, I just recently got two new cards. A soundblaster live! value, and a 3D Blaster TNT2 AGP.

They guy I got them from owed me money (for ever!) so I was delighted to get anyting from him. However, the sound card only had one cd with it It had Prody Parrot and Unreal on it. My question here is, were there supposed to be more than one cd (obviously)?

So, I went to sblive.com and downloaded their liveware software. Now, they want to sell me a cd that will enable soft karaoke, wave studio, etc., for 14.95. Now, does this usually come in the box, or do you get it home and see that they will "sell" you the rest of the other components that are listed in the drop down menus? Seems kinda screwy to me! I mean, if it's in the menus, why isn't it there?

Any input from other live value users is appreciated.

Thanks

Ask your friend for the CD! You are missing one CD that has the drivers (old ones) and those apps. My SB PCI128 came with that software.

Better look for it if you don't want to pay for the lost CD.

That's what I thought. Thanks! He's such an airhead, he said that what he gave me was all he remembered having. Why the hell couldn't they just put it all on one disk? I mean really, they'll hold what? 650mb's of data?

Anyway, thanks again. Maybe I can find someone who'll let me borrow theirs!

Good Luck In All...

That stuff wasn't activated with my SB Live! Player 1024 either. It just came with the drivers, Creative launcher, and demos of Livewire 3.0. and other goodies. You probably don't need the other stuff anyway, it's all novelty junk IMO. So long as the sound card works and you are happy.
The install was a pain in the neck. Asked me to register online (I had!) about 20 times before I hacked it and installed manually.
Oh I got Alien v Predator instead of Unreal. Sounds real nice through my hifi - that motion tracker annoys my neighbours, but not as much as the grenade launcher
