Any CPU PCI Adapter Card Link Thingies?...
Hello,
I'm trying to find if a pci card is made that excepts an extra CPU, specifically a PII. An exaple of what I mean is the Total mPOWER Quad G3/G4 Board:
http://www.totalimpact.com/G3_MP.html
Unfortunalty the colsest thing I have found are full blown miniture motherboards that fit in a pci slot... not what I'm looking for Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thank You for your time,
~cpr
-Edit- I only need a single processor one.

Hello,
CocoPops: I'm not quite sure which product you are pointing to... could you please be more specific? Your not refering to the Evergreen Performa 500? Are you?
Thank You,

Hmm, I was pointing to that, but I just released that wasn't the right link.
Evergreen make a PCI card that contains a Celeron CPU, and 64mb of RAM, I can't remember the link, but I am sure it featured on Sysyopt.com somewhere.
Lee.

No Probs CPR,
Glad I could help, I knew I had seen something like that around, just a case of finding it!

That evergreen stuff is OK for a quick upgrade path especially if you have some propriatary stuff like an IBM case and MOBO. The cheaper way is to just gut out the existing reuasable components, go to Fry's or a similar place and get a bare bones setup for about half the price. I have seen cases and mobo combos down there for about $100. Add CPU and memory Your in for about $300. For a few more bucks you could pick and choose the mobo so you would get one to o'clock.
P.S. Evergreen is targeted at the person or company that wants a quick fix with minimum fuss!

Hello,
Penguin, I'm not wanting to use the Evergreen for an upgrade. I'm just wanting to keep using my PII. The PII still works fine, no reason to ditch it. (I payed good money for it). Instead I would rather keep it, So thats why I was looking for one of these cards. Unfortunatly, this one is a Socket370, but I now know something similar to what I'm looking ofr exists.
Thank You,
~cpr

Went and checked out that totalimpact site. Man that stuff ought to rip. THat power PC stuff is fast. I work with it in my job all the time. THat is what the latest big IBM iron is based on. I've got a customer that has 2 12 way SMP boxes running and they scream. To bad you cant play games on them!

Hello,
Penguin: I would do almost anything to have just ONE of those Quad G3/G4 boards ...
*Notice* I am in no way related to any reports of Fort Knox being hijacked by a crazy persons repeating Quad g4 board.
~cpr
Why have a screaming fast computer when you can't run games? Easy, two words... Bragging Rights!

I love that attitude CPR. Bragging is lots of fun when you got the best for the cheapest. I don't play games much anyway so SMP boxes turn my wick up. More to come on that subject in a couple of weeks.

Hello,
Hahaha!! SMP is not something most of your friends have, thats why its so appealing for me
The search for a Slot1 PCI card has returned nothing. I don't believe what I'm looking for is made I was looking so forward to three processors... Oh well... perhaps if I sell my soul I can buy one of those Quad G4 boards [*drool*].
Thank You,
~cpr
