kak worm virus

I've been infected with the kak worm virus for quite awhile. I've tried some antivirus software which quarentined the infected files which i had to delete. Now upon starting my computer i get the error: Unable to import kak.reg. Also i get a lot of program crashing going on. Basically everything in my startup toolbar crashes just a few minutes apart. Often in the details of the error it states a problem with the kernell.dll file. I believe i may have erased this file due to being infected with the kak worm virus. Is there anyway i can avoid a complete restore? I've done the partial restore and only ran into trouble. After the partial restore, any program that did not originally come with the computer wouldn't appear on my add/remove programs list. It was as if the computer didn't recognize the programs were there. I would really like to avoid a complete restore. If there was some way i could just download these missing files and install them that would be great. Also there are no errors under my device manager, except one that just tells me my usb port is not connected for my digital camera. I only connect it when i use it. Any help would be appreciated, i've messed with this virus for too long.
thanks.

Go here and read the instructions to remove it, also download the Fix available there. http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/ven...t.kakworm.html
