Chronicles Of Riddick for PC....thoughts..

Suppose if any one here has kept up with the latest on games and whats coming out..you might have seen the trailers, screenies and reviews for this totally awesome game, which is coming to PC this month.

I mean, this is not just another first person action shooter ( even though it is actually),it has some of the best graphics, action and stroyline I have seencome out for awhile....

This is going to be hot.. hot.. hot..

I am putting this one on my top five next games to get..along with SC 3, F.E.A.R,and a couple others...

The links for the trailers and game site are on the Vivendi home page...

As long as it plays the same as the Xbox version the PC version should be pretty good. The retail price is $29.99 which almost makes it worthwhile right there.

My biggest fear is that it will be like the Spiderman game that came out. On the consoles it was great, but the PC version was a different game altogether, and was not very fun.

Not that price has anything to do with how great a game is or anything else...but $30.00. Come on..how could you go wrong with that.....I would get it tommorrow if I had it....

X Box smex box....PC games are always better graphicly and in most other ways generally....

Check ouot the movies and judge for yourself.... this is fantastic looking and the gameplay looks awesome..... great effects and action abound.....

Really now ..,how many good shooters is there comming out now...or in the near future?? Not that many.

I think HL2 got most of the hype and probably scared alot of the game makers a bit...and drew attention away from other games.

By the spring of this next year we are going to see some more sure fire winners..which for whatever reasons decided it best to wait a while for their releases...

The Chronicles of Riddic is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I just hope the game can live up to the hype it's getting. But if you've ever played Spider-Man 2 for PC you know exactly what apocalypse is talking about: worst console port EVER. It's one of my favorite games on PS2, but I was so disapointed with the port, as I'm a spidy fan. I just hope they don't do the same thing with CoR.

My friend got the game for xbox when it came out. and that was about the time doom 3 came out. and he messages me saying that the graphics are much better etc. etc. this game totally kicks doom 3 in the nut etc etc.

the guy doesnt have a clue. the graphics on xbox are total balls compared to what my X800 pro can render. he says it has very doom3 type graphics. and a lack of disapearing bodies was his favourite bit . as for gameplay well it might be better than doom 3 there.

i dont think i will buy it until you guys give me a credable opinion of the PC version. so somebody buy it and tell me

yeah but at least when a game comes out for a console you don't have to worry about upgrading as compared to upgrading your computer every 2 months to get the game to look better. take a look at some of the games for ps2 and xbox, how is possible that those games got better ratings then that of the computer and then say consoles bite.

Reviews of Xbox/PS2/GC games do not correlate to PC reviews. An Xbox game is judged based on the capacity of the platform.

Comparing PC graphics to Xbox graphics is apples to oranges.

Xbox is a Dx8 part. PC graphics are superior to any current console. Next gen consoles (PS3, Xbox next, Whatever Nintendo comes out with) will initally be on par with PCs. That will last all of 6 months if that...

ratings do make the game no matter what it's for. xbox is a pentium 3 and is far superior then the other 2 consoles. remember what happened with halo for pc, bit! chronicles of riddick for pc, who knows? never port a console game to a pc it never works and so far has proven not too.

gamespot's review gave it a 9.3 superb compared to the xbox which got the same thing. the viewers gave it a 8.9 good on both so it goes to show you that the xbox is really not that weak.

Keep in mind that XBOX is not compared to PC. XBOX games compared to XBOX games and PC to PC.

When Doom3 comes out for XBOX compare XBOX graphics to PC graphics.

I picked this game up 12/10/04 and I am about 2 hours into it. Fun so far. The review at www.gamespot.com is pretty accurate from what I've seen of the game so far.

In the Portland, OR area Fry's has it for $24.99 until 12/11/04 and of course you can get a price match at any of the other large stores.

The game is pretty demanding hardware-wise. I had to turn off my antialiasing and anisotropic filtering as it slowed the framerate down quite a bit when running at 1024x768 (AIW Radeon 9800 Pro and P4 2.8 oc'd to 3.3 Ghz).

I've got some vacation time coming up so it looks like I'll have about 10-15 hours of some quality gameplay ahead.
