Powered by ATi Radeon 9600XT

When the 9600XT comes out, how soon after will other companies like Powercolor and Tyan start making their own 9600XT-based cards?

Haha! Really? I was just wondering because other companies sometimes add in extra features like VIVO or they make the video card look better.

Will they also be bundled with HL2? I know that Sapphire will, but what about the others?

Bundled with a coupon or something - that and you'll have to have proof of purchase most likely to get HL2 as ATI isn't going to wait till April.

Where does the XT card fit into in the series, is it better than the PRO versions, or is it inbetween the non pro and pro....??

Anyone know of a comparison table where I can view the specs of the range??

Ive also hear a "rumour" that HL2 might be withdrawn, as the code was leaked???

Cheers

The XT is better than the Pro. The XT is probably equal to a 9700/9700 Pro and slower than a 9800 SE (and of course a 9800 NP is faster than a 9800 SE and a 9800 Pro is faster than them all).
Here's from least to greatest:

9600 NP
9600 Pro
9700 NP
9600 XT
9700 Pro
9800 SE
9800 NP
9800 Pro

As far as I know HL2 isn't going to be withdrawn, but it's release date is slated for sometime in April.

With that much money I would defiantly buy Geforce FX 5900 Ultra. Use the remaining money and buy yourself a game to show off you new card.

I heard somewhere that the 9600XT will actually perform better than the 9700 Pro. I'll post the link when I find it.

If you want to play HalfLife2 do not get a 5900 Ultra, it's just a bad idea. Given equal visual quality the 9600 Pro runs faster than the 5900 Ultra, and that's with some eye-candy Nvidia doesn't support yet.

This one is going to be ATI's game. It relies far too heavily on PS2.0 shaders for any NV3x card to be competitive.

If you wanted to play Quake3, then the FX5900 Ultra would be the card to have, but for newer games it's not the number one choice. It's become fairly clear now that it was designed for DX8.1 performance over DX9, unlike ATI.
