AVG Control Center

is there an option somewhere that disables the bootup scan?

i have remarked the entry in Autoexec.bat....seems to work.

"REM @D:\PROGRA~1\GRISOFT\AVG6\bootup.exe"

Hi Rocketmech,

thanx but i dunno its not working for me. The boot scan still shows up.

I have tried the following things before actually remarking the statement in autoexec.

unchecked "Check Boot viruses" and also saved parameters as default. that didn't work.

then i tried disabling the resident shield and still its shows up.

then i tried reinstalling AVG still no change and then doing the same thing.

When I ran W98se there used to be a Bootup Scanner selection in the Service Menu , to enable a system startup scan with each system restart. But I now only run XP and the option isn't available on my AVG 6.0 free versions anymore. Last W98 system I installed AVG on I think I remember setting this option. I'm not sure if updated versions have it anymore. You might also take a look at your msdos.sys file . Of course there's always,
