HOTTEST DAY EVER IN UK
The temperature in Britain has smashed the 100F (37.7C) mark with recordings at Heathrow Airport reaching 37.9C (100.2F).
But the heat has caused electric storms and one woman suffered a heart attack and 14 others were injured when lightning hit the crowd at a football match in Birmingham.
A front of torrential rain and thunder and lightning is straddling the country from south Wales, through Birmingham and up to the North East.
Meanwhile, the heatwave is gathering momentum in the South East and sunseekers there are enjoying another glorious day.
The new high temperature - making it the hottest day ever in Britain - was recorded at around 2.30pm, breaking the British record of 37.1C (98F) - recorded at Cheltenham in August 1990.
Bookies William Hill will now have to pay out up to a quarter of a million pounds to people who put bets on the heat hitting 99 and 100F.
The record temperatures puts Barbados in the shade at 84F and makes Rio de Janeiro look chilly at 64F.
Despite a cooler front spreading in from the west there is still no end in sight to the warm weather with the heatwave set to continue into next week with temperatures again in the high 20s, according to forecasters.
The temperature in central London reached 36C (97F) on Saturday - the highest in the capital since 1911, when a temperature of 36.1C was recorded at Camden Square in August.
Already this year is being compared with Britain's hottest summer in 1976.
Temperatures reached 36.4C (97.5F) Gravesend in Kent on Wednesday, the hottest day of the year until now

Hey guys, I feel for yas, sorta. Where I'm from, 100 is no record. I've seen much hotter, although the humidity was down in the single digits, so it wasn't too bad, if ya had plenty of water and a fan
Where I'm at now, we've had so much rain and the humidity is so high, I think I need to do one of two things, either grow gills or change my name to noah and start building a large boat

100F is that all?
Hope your cup of tea doesn't boil over J.M.
Over here where I'm at we have been hitting 109F for a couple of days. Sure the forecast says 100-105F, but when you look at your thermometer it states 109, and a 110-115F heat factor.

I'm on the 8th floor of a building and I can't see the ground, the mist is that bad.
It's been like that since I got up (6) and was similar yesterday

It's cooler here in Houston - not by much, but cooler (if you can call 98°F cool!)
Don't feel too bad - the average summertime temperature in Basra, Iraq is like 120°F with occasionaly highs of 140°. That's with near 100% humidity too!

In the winter, I can put more clothes on. But in the summer when it is hot, when I get naked, I can't go any farther.
