Going to buy a new AMD ? Dont buy one yet

Newest Athlon XP incarnation coming very soon


AMD Zone has received confirmation of the launch date and prices for AMD's upcoming Barton CPU. The 2500+, 2600+, and 2800+ will debut starting February 10th, with the 3000+ available in limited quantities. Here's a more specific list of the parts and prices you can expect to see mid-February (all should feature 333MHz FSB support unless noted otherwise):

I wouldnt buy one anyway. Not after I got my xp2100 running at XP3100 speeds stable as hell, all for $97.00!

the AMD ATHLON XP 3000 512K CACHE 333MHZ FRONT BUS 2.16MHZ is socket A , so i guess that means all the new ones under 3000 will be socket A also

Man, I was hoping there would be a 3700+ Barton. And what happened to AMD's prices? Yields must be really low... For $571.00 I might as well go intel.
