Does OS matter?

When I was playing with my p3, the fastest I could get it to go was 875 (8.5*103) with 2k. A friend said my hardware has better XP drivers, and he had a similar system go over 900 with XP pro. Would it be worth it to go with XP?

it's not the OS, it's the Drivers

in my own tests, i find 2k to be more solid for OC-ing than any other OS

I now have my p3 @ 935 (8.5*110). Wierd how it locked up at 105 before...
