Any suggestion on 3D shooting?

Will have my new kickbutt computer soon, and want to buy some decent 3d shooting games(new releases or maybe old ones as well). Want some suggestion.
I want to buy Alien Versus Preditor II and C&C Renegade, how are those two games??? Anyone played???

What about Quake 3, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Unreal, Half-Life, Max Payne, or other games of the like. There are plenty of 3D shooting games out there. It just depends on what you like.

I'll stay with Unreal Tournament, at least until my cash-flow is not so dismal.

I dont really like C&C renegade. It is ok.( I love evrey other C&C game) I dont know if it was worth buying.

My suggestion- Max payne-MOHAA-RTCW-red faction-and seroius sam 1 or 2.

I really didnt care much for Ghost recon.

I highly recomend MOHAA. RTCW has come down in price so it is also a good buy. They both have killer graphics. C & C Renegade however isn't worth buying in my opinion. Game play and storyline are weak and graphics could be better. Rainbow 6 while a good strategic anti-terrorism type game, the graphics are pretty poor (in my opinion). Ghost Recon, while better than Rainbow 6 (graphically), is still lacking in graphic potential. If it's a good military combat game you're looking for, I would recomend Operation Flashpoint (especially with the gold upgrade). But as I said earlier, I would recomend MOHAA to you first to really see the power of a newer machine.

Thanks for replying, I've already have Half-life series aside from blue shift, but my opposing force won't work. It always say error when I start a new game or even Boot Camp. Well, RTCW is still too expensive to afford, 40 US dollars. I heard a lot of good things about Serious Sam Second Encounter, but I don't really like shooting at Aliens (but I liked half-live, huh, wierd!), I'll give Unreal Tournement a shot, since it is really cheap($15.00? I don't remember), Well, rainbows, I have Rogue Spear, I'm kinda weak at team works (a lone wolf, hah).
Operation Flashpoint....hmm, well the retail box looks great, but holy jesus, it would cost me a 256MB DDR for that game with the gold.
I'll try to get MOHAA, hope I have enough for that game. I've try the PS2 version of Red Fraction, feels awesome, I wonder if the computer version will be the same (or better)
Well, thanks a lot, peace

Best 3D shooter game ?

If someone asked me which one is the best , here is a list of my own (highly recommended):
- Unreal Tournament (best graphics and gameplay)
- Ghost Recon (realistic,action)
- C&C Renegade (good graphics and music (but it has a heavy bass))
- Max Payne (best graphics , action , music and gameplay)
- Hitman : Code name 47 ( best graphics, gameplay,action,music)
- Counter Strike (good action, gameplay and graphics)
and maybe Medal of Honor (good AI)

I hate these games because it makes me sick and headaches :
- RTCW (like the old games Doom , Heretic and its precious version Woflfenstein 3D)
- Quake series

The best 3d shooter game must have a good engine : doesn't make the players feel sick and have headaches so they can playing it more times !

Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is just out and getting some good press. I picked it up today. If it makes a smashing impression on me, you can expect to hear more about it (perhaps a dedicated thread) in this forum =)

Who admits to pirating software in a public forum that probably records your IP?

i would say go with Medal Of Honor Allied Assault(if you don't know what MOHAA is) i love this game but it requires a pretty good system to run it smoothly and you said you have a "kickbutt system" so i think you would be fine. at the moment i am fighting framerate probs on my P4 1.8 with a GF4 but i think it is because i am still using on-board sound. we will see though got to go buy a sound card.
