A minor case mod

I have an Antec case sitting around and would like to move the motherboard from an IBM Netivista into it. The problem is with the front panel connections. I have to use the current IBM connector as the MBD panel isn't generic. Is there a way to identify correctly which wires go to the reset and the power switch and some how connect them using the IBM wires? I have absolutely no wiring experience but if I knew what had to be done, I might be able to get some help.

Yea you can. Trial and error. Start with your power and move from there or google your mother board and look for a wiring diagram.
