New Version of Internet Explorer

Anybody know why a new version of Internet Exporer opens when you click on a link in OutLook Express instead of it (the link)using the main browser that is already open? Just curious. Meow

Open IE and go to:
Tools\internet options\advanced.
Look for "reuse windows for launching shortcuts". Putting a check in that box should stop the extra window from opening.

I checked the check mark and it's already checked.

Have you restarted your comp since the error?
When did the error start?
Did you do something?

If you did do something (install program, etc.) you can use Windows' built in "go back" feature and go back to before the error started.

It's not an error. I just was wondering why it launched a new version of I.Explorer when I clicked on a link from Outlook Express when I alrady have a version open. Perfectly good one too.

Pretty sure M$ considers this a "feature." Prior to IE5.01, there was an "option" to browse in new window that one could uncheck.

You are probably right. I have OE 5.5 and am somewhat afraid to upgrade anymore.
