While using an optical mouse, I noticed some surfaces are better than others. What is the best surface texture/pattern/color for the optical rodents?

A white piece of printer paper is used as the surface for my optical mouse.
Works great, no reflection, no jumpy cursor.
Of course you have to use a little bit of tape to keep it from sliding around the desk top.
