Over Clocked

Hey guys!! I just had a pretty big problem... I was screwing around in my case (arranging wires) and I was smart enough to do it while I was starting up my computer... Well, anyway my computer was running through scan disk (b/c my comp froze or something) and suddenly I heard some really bad noises (like I had bumped my hard rive and made it mess up), so I immediately pulled the plug. Well actually, I had just accidentally pushed a wire into one of my cooling fans, never the less, my first though was that I was having a major physical hard rive failure, so (with lighting fast reflexes) I un-plugged the comp. ======>
I go to start windows and I get a cool error that says explore is messed up bla bla bla. Same thing for safe mode. But I get real lucky and am able to copy files from my comp, through my 10/100 LAN, to my laptop. SO... I am about to format and re-install everything, and am just wondering if anybody knows how to get around this.
My other problem is ===> I am wondering about my file sizes on my comp. I am using the 64k block size (because I can't format my hard drive with the recommend 32k block size because it is sooo big (120 gigs)). Well, when I was copying files onto my lap top, I noticed that the "Size on disk:" files size was much much larger than the "Size:". Does anybody know the difference of these? I am wounding if b/c of my 64k block size I am wasting a massive amount of hard rive space. Lemme give you an example - I have some cd images in a folder "Size: 5.18 GB" as opposed to "Size on disk: 52.8 GB” Could this be right? Well I am about to fdisk my hard drive and start over so if anybody knows what setting I should use it would be appreciated!
Thanks Guys!
