I moded a Dell Dimensions P166. I took this oridinary old beast.
http://mdrealty.hypermart.net/ed/dell%20p166%2002.jpg
And I turned it into a dual cruncher. I swapped out the power supply and added an Abit BP6 with dual 333mHz Celerons running at 533mHz.

I just pull off the can"s lids, blow one extra fan at the cpu, another at the board (angled at the RAM), and one blowing in the bottom front. Got an exta P/S just for fans. Even my H/S fan runs off it. Well, it's a a 40cfm Ytech.
You wouldn't want it in your living room, It looks like something from a sci fi thriller. But, I guess you could get fancy and cut some holes, and buy grills, etc.
BTW, I'm thinkin 'bout cuttin one hole for a fan behind the mobo, right by the cpu.

Both of you, Case modding isn't building a computer. It's making your case look cool. I would have thought that the pictures on the link that I posted would have been enough to explain that. But, how much did it cost you to make that dual celery system? I want to make a dual P3 system(1.4Ghz Tualatins) I think that would be quite sweet.

I cut a hole in my case for a fan. Does that count?
:D
lol
I want it to run cool, not look cool.:o

A modification is just that. I took something that was originaly a stock Dell with propriatary wiring, switches and power supply and made a truly unique machine. The parts didnt just drop into place and everything worked. It took me an hour to modify the propriatary on/off and reset switch and to get the hdd/power leds to work.
I guess I should have drilled a hole in it and sprayed it with some blue paint, then it would have been ok :D
I bought the board, hsfs and processors used for $125.00. The original Dell P166 was $75.00. The board connectors and power supply were donated by a friendly tech forum member.

I slapped a Type-R and a "Powered by Vtec" sticker on the case. Does that count as case mod? That should give me another 15fps!

I moded my Hydrolic case.It has a removeable sides which I really like.I took off the the left side of case.Got a sheet of plexiglass cut to size for side of case.I then changed the fastner setup to hold the Plexi. There is two holes in the plexiglass side. One is a blow hole with a 80mm 30cfm fan blowing air in the bottem side onto the video card.It keeps my G3 real nice and cool.I added a second hole on the side to install a streight tube into the case.
This tube completely surrounds the fan on the cpu.It alows it to draw fresh air to the cou from outside.By-By case temp. probs. And now the heat off of my G3 doesnt rise up to the cpu intake.I also noticed due to the flow of air from front bottem to top back the Northbridge heatsink hot air was flowing into the intake of cpu fan. This tube stopped all that and also reduced the air turbulance inside the case.I added a 60mm(don't know the cfm of it)behind the proc. as to draw the heat from cpu right out of case. There is one 80mm I added in the front of case and drilled out the air hole in cover as to allow better air flow and snuck a filter in their aswell. The psu@420w is dual 80mm fans so the bottem fan draws heat off the cpu aswell as the back fan. It's not really that noisy at all.You would think it would be louder than it is!
As I am typeing my temps are mobo=66.2F and cpu is 76F.Ambient is 73F.I think the case is cooler cause it is on the floor, well that and all the fans of course. Here is all the fans I have- 4-80mm 1-60mm Gpu fan and cpu fan.Thats alot of fans but then that is one cool running P4.Of course I also got rid of the Thermal pad and applied the new Artic silver3 on the cpu. That made the cpu. temps drop alot.
Running out of case mod ideas though.I still have 3 in mind.#1 Black light for my Plexi-side.#2 A P4 heatsink rated up to 3gig(preferable copper and 80mm fan).#3 rounded cables to make the air really flow.Whatta you think?Does that count as a case mod.
I would post a pic but I lost the drivers disk for $900- Sony handi-cam.Any body know where to get them. The sony site was no help and my mem stick is full.:D

Have an Antec full tower, that had a 1 piece lid. Cut the sides off the lid, so now it has a lid, 2 panels and 1 panel has 2 fans mounted on it. Also running with 2 power supplies. The 2nd power supply is mounted to the top lid, with the cables going through the top of the case.
A dremel and skill saw are great to have.:D
Also, the front panel is painted blue and black, blue from the top left and blending into black going bottom right. The lid and panels are black marble. Rubber contact paper is great for this.
Do these count as case mods?;)

Thanx for the link! But I went there and no drivers listed for mine.It is a Sony handycam model# dcr-trv320
Steadyshot and 0 luxnightshot with boom mic and nightvision extension/450x zoom and interchangeable lenses(panaramic-etc.)
I then gave the e-mail to sony another try and got a message: APACHE error, there was internal error in the server, please try again.I must have clicked it 50 times to no avail.I then tried another e-mail to sony through another part of the site with the same message.Sony site must be down so I still have a useless $900 cam.Thanx sony for the support, been like 3+ months now,no contact no drivers errrrrrrrrrrr!Oh well patience will succeed!Tommorow I guess I start tearing the place apart looking for the disk.Thanx for the try anyway ^40.If you get any other ideas let me know!:(

My girlfriend just remembered today she took the book over for her dad to read,he is a camera nut!Well their was the disk in the middle of the book. She told me over and over again that I had it.I knew I didn't but argueing with her is no joy so I just shook my head and said I'll find it or the drivers atleast.Months of looking for it and the drivers on the net and all asudden she remembers.ERRRRRRRRRRRR!Only a women can get me that frustrated.Oh well I guess it's payback for all the stupid things I have done in the past.
As soon as my light strip and rounded cables show up I'll take the pics!I'm getting the light strip that is as thick as a poster and requires no power supply other than pc's.The cool part is you can cut it into strips and they all glow. Its also 3' long and comes in just about any color. What color would you guys choose?I'm debateing on black/blue/red.Its some pretty cool stuff for $39-.Whatta ya think?I have to decide what color before I order it!Check it out at www.coolerguys.com
Those guys are like a case modders heaven!:D

Yes.Just completing my new mods.I don't have the pictures yet.
Do it!Once you try it you're hooked!
Some things you can try:
LEDS,switches and more.
Colored tape.
Fiber optic lights.
Model paint for plastic.Any good Auto Enamel for the metal case.
Extra fans.
Reflectors.
Use a jig saw to cut the hole for the window.
Acetate window - Like Plexiglass but thinner available at Lowe's, etc.
Use blades for wood to cut the plastic / acetate - wood drill bits to drill it if needed.
Check out http://www.directron.com if you want some parts or to have a look.
