MSI 845 Ultra ARU
P4 1.6AGHz
512MB DDR RAM
HD: Maxtor ATA133 60GB
Windows XP Pro

3 weeks ago I send my fried 845 Ultra ARU Motherboardfor RMA and finally I got it back today from my vendor. However, I have to make a BIG decision, may be you guys can shed some light for me.

Right now I am using Gigabyte GA-8IRXP, the board is very stable until I flash my BIOS from version F4 to F5, then it forces my CPU to run at 66Mhz FSB instead of 100Mhz FSB. I am very mad about the BIOS upgrade of that Gigabyte board. So I have no choice but to flash my BIOS back to F4.

Since I just got back my MSI 845 Ultra, if you were me should I stick around with my Gigabyte GA-8IRXP or go back to my MSI 845 Ultra. (Of course, I know I have to do the BIOS update manually via Hard Drive this time)

Please give me some suggestion ASAP !

Why don't you draw straws? What we think shouldn't matter. Does the MSI have features that you can put to use? Does it support higher CPU speeds and more memory? If so, you have your answer.

Me? I can't be bothered with a technology chase. If it's stable and has the features I need, I will keep it until I am forced to update or feel "the need for speed".

Good luck on your choice.
