my friend got a plextor 8 by something and uses ez cd creator.

she can burn cds fine but they only play on the cd drive and only 1 cd player out of many that we've tried. is it the settings on the program or is it the burner or the cds or what?

When using the Adaptec Ezy CD Creator

Drop down to the 3rd box when given a choice as to what type cd you're burning.

Choose the one that says something like

"click here to make cd to be distributed to many different cd-rom's for maximum compatibility"

or something like that.

This will invoke the slowest burn of the writer.

Also try different media. The quality difference really shows in the compatibility, especially when used in older drives.
I've found some that can be read by ANY drive (TDK) and others that are useless almost anywhere.

Good info on CD quality: Media World (http://www.esware.net/empire/hardware/cdrom/cd_quality.shtml)

Also try the setting "disc at once" or "single session" or similar(not too familiar with ez-cd.) This will end the cd so no more data can be written to it.

thanks guys, she's using some blue tdk's that she paid way too much for so i don't think it's that. but i think disk at once is what i was looking for.

thanks,
