Hey guys! I need to share some internet connections through a standard 56k modem. I have a few computers at my home (running windows 98) that I want to share an internet connection, and a few computer at work (running Win2K). Does anybody know how to do this? Both my home and Office are networked 10/100 speed. I once used win ME (But did not like it) and I think you could do this pretty eaisly. Well thanks guys!

Well- I would recommend LinkSys home networking, will work great for internet sharing and is light on the wallet. Pic it up at buy.com or outpost.com and get free shipping i think.
Best of luck,

Basically , you'll have to go to add remove programs.
Windows setup.
wait while it loads, tick tick tick
connections
Internet Connection sharing
Then put in your W98 cd
be sure to disable the antivirus and all TSR's before adding any software
Then you're good to go, except for the cable connection to the machine.
I don't know how many can share, maybe 2

Well i have been using ICS for awhile now and havent noticed any lags or problems at all. Both machines are running win98se, the server amd K6-350mhz,64mb ram and the client pentium 166mmx with 48mb ram. ICS is a great feature for windows boxes, and saves you the money of getting seperate ips or buying an expesive router. Check out this link for extensive help on setting it up: http://www.annoyances.org/win98/features/ics.html
