This kind of stuff always makes us wonder and I wish I could ease your mind by knowing a safe answer that explains these files but I dont.Any additional info would help. What are the files' sizes? file types? file associations? dates created?I suspect that you may be running a software that generates the files. The ca32 makes me want to ask about an av scanner......
A useful utility -stnp- or send to notepad will send practically ANY file's contents to where you can glance at some text-often helps.. A least you have something... http://www.kuikun.com/tongsoft/stncp/

Ah, interesting. I had these mysterious files also (Compaq Armada Laptop, with Win98SE). Located in C:\Windows
I trashed them all. Didn't adversely affect my system.
This is a guess, but I think that string of letters/numbers bracketed by the {} is the CLSID for ActiveX/Com stuff.
As always, be careful what you delete.
Good luck!
Jim

I'm not sure, but I think scandisk creates these. I use to get alot of these until I changed the settingd on scancisk to delete cross linked file and discard lost file fragments. I deleted all of these without incident.

Ahh-thats what it was, I also got rid of MDM, that would explain why I quit getting these. Thanks socalgal.
