I need help. I backed up my c: drive to my d: using windows microsoft backup ver 4.1 (windows 98). My hard drive was just over 3 gigs of files space used my backup is around 2.6 gigs so all the data is there. I installed a new c: drive and reformated my c: drive installed windows98 again and all my programs and then tried restore to get my data. It will create the folders but will not copy my data over. I have tried just clicking on one data file at a time but it will not copy it over. Please if somebody knows how to fix this let me know I need this data for work.

On the restore tab of MS Backup you will see a Options button in the bottom right corner. Click on this and put a dot in to "Always replace the file on my computer"

That should do it.

Cheers!

Bill sent me an E-mail stating failure so far. I replied that maybe she had moved her files without his knowledge.

When you restored your machine, did all the other folders that were restored contain their expected content?

Cheers!
