drive a will not read

i tryed to reinstall win 95 to my computer . but sence then somr strange things have happened , first i lost my cd all together , then my modem went out to lunch , and if that wernt enough , to make matters worse now my floppy wont read,on reboot, it says that floppy failed, if i format, do you think i mite beable to get it all back,

You might be able to get it all back if you go to Safe Mode and remove the devices and re-boot. If not, then format, yes.

i tryed your advice about safe mode unfortanaly it did not work , my problem now is how to format with out the use of a:drive . can i goto cammand prompt and do something , i am at a loss , i have formated befor but never had this problem
