Can some one please tell me how to update the O/S from win95 to win98 on a Deskpro 4000. I have the Upgrade version and the Full retail version. They both seem to load until they get to the plug and play detection and then just hang there. I have used the softpaq 8126 to update the setup program but it still hangs at this point. Win 95 does the same unless I Install from the restore disk. I have searched this site for two days and still cant get the O/S installed. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks RLPOS

Only last week I installed Win98 SE on a Deskpro 4000 without any problem. Plug and Pray detected onboard sound without any problem everything worked fine. It could be you have hardware problem. Run a memory test and change video card if possible, one more thing before do a Format C:/u before installation.
